November was a cozy month of blankets, warm drinks, and absolutely unhinged stories—just how I like them. From murderous couples to suburban mysteries, my reading list was stacked with suspense, a little romance, and a lot of edge. Let’s dive into my November reads and see what had me hooked (and what maybe didn’t quite sink its teeth in as deeply as I hoped).
1. This Book Sucks by Piper CJ
Starting with the vampire in the room: I really wanted to love this one. With a title like This Book Sucks, how could I resist? While it had its moments (and a protagonist with serious bite), I found myself wanting more. It didn’t quite sink its fangs into my heart, but if you’re looking for some campy, blood-soaked fun, it’s still worth checking out.
2. Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver
Where do I even begin? Murderous lovers, dark humor, and the kind of storytelling that makes you question your own moral compass. This book was an absolute ride. It’s sharp, twisted, and deliciously chaotic—a perfect blend of crime and romance that I could not put down.
3. Lights Out by Navessa Allen
Talk about relationship goals. A couple that slays together stays together. Lights Out is dark, eerie, and somehow tender all at once. It delivered all the creepy vibes I needed, and I’ll be thinking about this dynamic duo for a long time.
4. That’s Not My Name by Megan Lally
This one was intense. It’s equal parts emotional and thrilling, with a protagonist who’ll break your heart and then glue it back together in ways you don’t see coming. If you like stories that are both deeply personal and full of suspense, add this to your list ASAP.
5. Don’t Forget Me by Rea Frey
I. Was. Obsessed. The twists in this book had me gasping out loud, and the pacing was flawless. It’s one of those stories where just when you think you’ve figured it out, Frey pulls the rug out from under you. Highly recommend for fans of suspenseful thrillers with emotional depth.
6. On a Quiet Street by Seraphina Nova Glass
Never trust a quiet street—or a quiet book title. This story was packed with secrets, lies, and some serious “what just happened” moments. It’s smart, surprising, and addictive, with enough intrigue to keep you flipping pages long into the night.
Final Thoughts
This month’s reads were a mix of dark, emotional, and flat-out wild—exactly what I needed. While This Book Sucks didn’t fully meet my expectations, the rest of these books knocked it out of the park. If you’re looking for twists, turns, and a bit of chaos, you can’t go wrong with any of these.
